May is Mental Health Month, Warm Line and Crisis Line

On the South Central Community Based Initiative Message Board there is a recent post by the admin titled May is Mental Health Month. The question is:

What are you doing to observe May as Mental Health Month? Share with us, or give suggestions that someone else may want to do.

I don’t have an answer for this yet. If you do, please visit the links above.

Indirectly related, yesterday I noticed a wrong phone number for the Warm Line showing on the South Central Community Based Initiative web site. It was on a graphic displayed on the left-hand side of their site. This morning I saw it had been corrected.

The entire event is FREE. A Town Hall Meeting on the topic of legal issues associated with heroin and opiate use in Northfield will begin at 3:00. The Town Hall meeting will host a panel of seven experts and two personal stories from parents of young people who have dealt with legal matters associated with addition. The panel will include the Honorable William A. Johnson, Chief Judge, 3rd Judicial District Court; Paul Beaumaster, Rice County Attorney; Jason Mullenbach Probation Officer, Rice County; Karen Duncan, Chief Public Defender, Third District; Benjamin Bejar, Assistant Rice County Attorney; Mark Taylor, Northfield Chief of Police; and Dr. Chris Richardson, Superintendent, Northfield Public Schools.

Update – January 9: I don’t know if I missed the date in the Northfield News or if it was mentioned, but according to the post Reminder – Opiate addiction specialist to discuss signs, symptoms, prevention on Monday evening on Northfield HCI’s web site the event takes place on Monday January 12, 2009. I’ve updated the calendar.
