The entire event is FREE. A Town Hall Meeting on the topic of legal issues associated with heroin and opiate use in Northfield will begin at 3:00. The Town Hall meeting will host a panel of seven experts and two personal stories from parents of young people who have dealt with legal matters associated with addition. The panel will include the Honorable William A. Johnson, Chief Judge, 3rd Judicial District Court; Paul Beaumaster, Rice County Attorney; Jason Mullenbach Probation Officer, Rice County; Karen Duncan, Chief Public Defender, Third District; Benjamin Bejar, Assistant Rice County Attorney; Mark Taylor, Northfield Chief of Police; and Dr. Chris Richardson, Superintendent, Northfield Public Schools.

Socializing is Good, Eat Dinner or Volunteer

Sep 5, 2008 – To get in a little more socializing, an excellent source of good mental health, I decided to start eating at Thursday’s Table three months ago. I also decided to volunteer, and for the same reason. But since I use the food shelf, and ate there, I thought since I’m relatively able-bodied I’d like to give a bit back. I do it on an on-call basis, because I usually have doubts about my reliability and stability. If you are someone who’s thinking about it, but don’t want to commit as a regular volunteer, think about offering your service as an on-call volunteer. And if you simply don’t want to volunteer, go there to eat, and maybe get in a bit of socializing.
